Longwarry’s wonderful weekend

Longwarry Bowls Club returned after the Christmas break in the best possible way with all three weekend pennant teams recording strong wins with the midweek team having the bye. Division 2 travelled to Traralgon to take on RSL, and recorded a convincing 79 shot win in strengthening its hold on top position.  Division 5 were at home to Newborough and also had a comfortable win, getting home by 40 shots and also keeping their undefeated season in tact. Division 6 travelled to Trafalgar and in a tight match, managed to get the win by 11 shots and keep their finals hopes alive.

Division 2 – Longwarry 119 Defeated Traralgon RSL 40

Ken White, Jasmine O’Shea, Glenn Pask and John McCarthy (Skip) defeated Jeff Blythman’s team 21/9.

Craig Cousin, Robbie Proctor, Barry White and Kenneth Towt (Skip) defeated Alan Jone’s team 34/10.

Col Finger, Nat Cousin, Ian Peterson and Trevor Kitchin (Skip) defeated Ron Osler’s team 34/8.

Grant Pask, Hank Metselaar, Russell White and Pommie Lieshout (Skip) defeated John Farguhar’s team 30/13.


Division 5 – Longwarry 82 defeated Newborough 42

Lorna Sheedy, Debbie Parker, Dale Hendrick and Graham “Astaire” Woolstencroft (Skip) defeated Ken Bechaz’s team 20/12.

Matthew Bail, John O’Shea, Mark Serong and John Majkut (Skip) defeated Graeme Amo’s team 29/20.

Lorna Sheedy, Sharon Twite, Petris Lieshout and Gerry “Catoggio” Mitchell (Skip) defeated Joan Lee’s team 33/10.


Division 6 – Longwarry 40 Defeated Trafalgar 29

Michael Clark, Laraine Bluck, Chris Butler and Chris Footit (Skip) defeated by Noel Morland’s team 13/17.

Hayden McCarthy, Colleen Butterworth, Elio Megetto and Ronnie TeGiffel (Skip) defeated Trav Jenkin’s team 27/12.
